Located in Pinole, California, this project included a Theatre and Performing Arts building that is a two story structure consisting of band room, video production studio, drama classroom, dance classroom, commercial kitchen, cafeteria, theatrical stage and two story theater house seating. The building’s HVAC primarily consists of multiple air handling units with variable air volume boxes for all classroom and support areas. The theater is serviced by high efficiency air handling units with underfloor displacement ventilation. Building B, Library, is a two story structure consisting of library space and administrative offices. The building’s HVAC system consists of multiple air handling units with variable air volume boxes. Building C and D, are connected three story structures consisting of classrooms. This building’s HVAC primarily consists of multiple air handling units with variable air volume boxes and radiant panels for all classroom and support areas. All classrooms serviced by the high efficiency air handling units utilize displacement ventilation technology to maximize the buildings energy efficiency. Building E, is a single story structure consisting of gymnasium and multi-purpose rooms. This building’s HVAC system primarily consists of high efficiency heating and ventilation air handling units. To maximize energy savings during the summer months, the campus has a central plant with two (2) high efficiency chillers. The chillers are designed to fully modulate to meet the space cooling needs of the campus. The overall project scope consists of the construction of five (5) new high school buildings.
